The Unstuck Framework
Pastor Daryl Black
Exodus 3:17 English Standard Version
And I promise that I will bring you up out of the affliction of Egypt to the land of the Canaanites, the Hittites, the Amorites, the Perizzites, the Hivites, and the Jebusites, a land flowing with milk and honey.
Numbers 13:1-2, 23-25, 27-33 New International Version
1The Lord said to Moses, 2“Send some men to explore the land of Canaan, which I am giving to the Israelites. From each ancestral tribe send one of its leaders.”
23…When they reached the Valley of Eshkol, they cut off a branch bearing a single cluster of grapes. Two of them carried it on a pole between them, along with some pomegranates and figs. 24That place was called the Valley of Eshkol because of the cluster of grapes the Israelites cut off there. 25At the end of forty days they returned from exploring the land.
27They gave Moses this account: “We went into the land to which you sent us, and it does flow with milk and honey! Here is its fruit. 28But the people who live there are powerful, and the cities are fortified and very large. We even saw descendants of Anak there. 29The Amalekites live in the Negev; the Hittites, Jebusites and Amorites live in the hill country; and the Canaanites live near the sea and along the Jordan.”
30Then Caleb silenced the people before Moses and said, “We should go up and take possession of the land, for we can certainly do it.”
31But the men who had gone up with him said, “We can’t attack those people; they are stronger than we are.” 32And they spread among the Israelites a bad report about the land they had explored. They said, “The land we explored devours those living in it. All the people we saw there are of great size. 33We saw the Nephilim there (the descendants of Anak come from the Nephilim). We seemed like grasshoppers in our own eyes, and we looked the same to them.”
You cannot move forward in life, relationships, or spiritually if something is keeping you stuck.
See it. Own it. Release it. Move forward.
See it.
Numbers 13:33b New International Version
We seemed like grasshoppers in our own eyes, and we looked the same to them.
- The biggest obstacle to your purpose is not your circumstances, it’s how you’ve named yourself.
You are chosen. (1 Peter 2:9)
You are a new creation. (2 Corinthians 5:17)
You are more than a conqueror. (Romans 8:37)
You are fearfully and wonderfully made. (Psalm 139:14)
You are not a slave, you are a son. (Romans 8:15)
You are healed. (Isaiah 53:5)
You are called. (2 Timothy 1:9)
You are loved. (Romans 8:38–39)
You will never outperform the identity you agree with.
Own it.
Freedom begins where excuses end.
- Familiar dysfunction will always feel safer than unfamiliar freedom.
Release it.
Hebrews 12:1 New Heart English Bible
… Let us lay aside every weight and the sin that so easily entangles us… and run.
- What you refuse to release will restrict your movement.
Move forward.
Number 13:30 New International Version
Then Caleb silenced the people before Moses and said, “We should go up and take possession of the land, for we can certainly do it.”
- God doesn’t give full blueprints. He gives next steps.
See it. Own it. Release it. Move forward.
