God With Us - Week 1
He’s With Us in the Chaos
Matthew 1:18, 20, 24a English Standard Version
18“Now the birth of Jesus Christ took place in this way. When his mother Mary had been betrothed to Joseph, before they came together she was found to be with child from the Holy Spirit
…20But as he considered these things, behold, an angel of the Lord appeared to him in a dream saying, ‘Joseph, son of David, do not fear to take Mary as your wife, for that which is conceived in her is from the Holy Spirit.’
... 24When Joseph woke from sleep, he did as the angel of the Lord commanded him…”
1. Chaos can be divine in disguise.
- God often speaks through the chaos before He brings clarity. You may not see what He’s doing yet, but He’s doing more than you think.
2. Faith means trusting a whisper when you wanted a shout.
- Faith isn’t about full understanding; it’s about full surrender.
3. Peace comes from presence, not from predictability.
- Peace isn’t about what’s happening around me, it’s about who’s standing with me.
4. Obedience is the bridge between confusion and clarity.
- Sometimes you won’t feel peace until you move in obedience.
Peace isn’t the absence of chaos, it’s the presence of Christ.
God, I don’t have to understand it to trust You in it. You’re with me, and you've got this.
Now What?
James 1:22 English Standard Version
Do not merely listen to the word, and so deceive yourselves. Do what it says.
Question to Ask:
What is God calling you to do—or to trust Him for—in this season? And what might be holding you back from taking that step of faith?
Application:
If peace is not the absence of chaos but the presence of Christ, what is one way you can intentionally draw closer to Him this week? What is the next small step of obedience God is putting in front of you?
