The Lord Is Sweet

May 20, 2014

About 2 months ago, a few girls from the office and I started a small group during our lunch break every Thursday. When the study started, I was feeling restless. To be completly honest, a lot of things were going on in my life that had me hitting a wall. So, this small group was just what I needed.

So you know how I said I was restless? Well, the study we were doing was "Restless" by Jennie Allen. How ironic.

A few weeks into the study, as the girls and I started to see how the Lord placed us all together for many reasons, we all started to see growth in ourselves, growth in the areas that we didn't know we needed to grow in, and growth in our friendship with each other. It was so sweet how the Lord placed these girls in my life and this study at the exact moment I needed it.

I am not here to tell you that the study was amazing and that you need to do this specific study (but really, you should, it's a life changer!) I am here to tell you that being in a small group with women who you can be vulnerable with, can truly change your life.

You see, when this study started, my whole life had taken a turn. I really had NO idea how I was going to get up everyday and face reality. But WOW, these girls were there to lift me up, encourage me, show me where I needed to change and were completely honest with me. Its sometimes hard to look in the mirror at yourself and see the things you need to take a look at. They challenged me to be the best Dani I could be, despite what I was going through. What started as a journey of 4 girls meeting together for small group, ended with us wanting to seek more of what the Lord has for us, while walking alongside each other.

I encourage you to join a small group, do life with your friends. Be there for one another. People need people.
