Day 8 – Prepare the Soil

“Then he told them many things in parables, saying: “A farmer went out to sow his seed. As he was scattering the seed, some fell along the path, and the birds came and ate it up. Some fell on rocky places, where it did not have much soil. It sprang up quickly, because the soil was shallow. But when the sun came up, the plants were scorched, and they withered because they had no root. Other seed fell among thorns, which grew up and choked the plants. Still other seed fell on good soil, where it produced a crop – a hundred, sixty or thirty times what was sown.” Matthew 13:3, 8 NIV

God brings people into our lives every day that need to know Jesus. However, our daily default mentality is: “today is mine, and everything that happens today is for me or about me”. If we don’t consciously break out of this way of thinking, and lift our head and open our eyes, we will never see the people that God is directing into our path. Today is His, and everything that happens today is for Him and about Him. 

  • Ask God to show you those people who you need to interact with today.
  • Ask Him help you remember that today is His.
  • Ask Him to show you ways to lead people to know Jesus.

Pray for the 5 people on my list. I will look for ways to help them draw closer to Jesus.
